Spiked Cactus

Thirsty and tired, you finally reach an oasis only to find it is surrounded by a thick wall of spiky cacti.

How will you get through?

Cut a cactus and the others grow even more spikes - but your cut reveals juicy insides which look refreshing.

Taste this cactus juice and everything will go wavy. As you start tripping out, you hear the voices of the cacti speaking as one.

“You really hurt us! We won’t let you through.”

Once you apologize, the cacti will form a path that you may pass through.

Alternatively, the cactus can ask this old riddle:

I run, not walk,

I murmur, never talk,

I have a bed but never sleep,

I have a mouth but never eat.

If players can fly or teleport, you may want to make the cacti wall into a solid dome of spikes.

Any injury caused to the cactus will reveal it’s inner juice, not just cutting it.

If players don’t think to cut the plant, they may find refreshing juice on a flower.

If players don’t think to apologize, have the cacti be really sad and grumpy!
